About ResearchArk

Research funding should move at thespeed of the ideas it backs.

We are Mycel, the team behind ResearchArk.

Based in Berlin, we bring product, programme operations, engineering, market development and advisory experience together around one purpose: giving researchers more time for ideas.

Why we exist

Built from inside the funding ecosystem.

ResearchArk grew from first-hand experience designing and operating European research platforms, programmes and partnerships. The idea took shape at B.A.U.M. Consult, where Alphin and Andreas co-developed DISCCO, CETPartnership's digital collaboration platform, and the Crete Valley Project Connector, while Alphin also managed EXPERA and developed IntPPC.

Across that work, the founding team saw the same pattern: opportunities sit apart from people, proposals sit apart from evidence, and valuable knowledge is lost between funding cycles.

That experience shaped ResearchArk around connection. We work to make the path from idea to partnership and funding clearer, more collaborative and easier to navigate for everyone involved.

Our vision

Where this is going.

A world where scientific discovery thrives without administrative friction. Where AI amplifies human ingenuity, collaboration across institutions and borders accelerates breakthroughs, and every idea with merit finds the resources to create measurable impact.

How we build

Our working principles.

01

Start with the people doing the work.

We design around the real decisions, relationships and responsibilities of researchers, innovators, teams and the organisations backing them.

02

Make evidence easy to follow.

Clear sources, connected context and transparent reasoning turn information into knowledge people can trust and use.

03

Design for collaboration.

Breakthroughs cross disciplines, institutions and borders. The systems around them should make those connections easier.

04

Build responsibly, from Europe.

Human judgement, responsible data practices and institutional trust belong in the foundation from the start.

Our team

Different disciplines. One shared purpose.

ResearchArk brings together company builders, engineers, programme operators, communicators, scientists, lawyers and human-centred designers.
